The energy efficiency in your home is determined by the attic, so this is why insulating an attic is very important. An insulated attic will be cold during winter and boiling during summer and it will make your air conditioner and furnace have to work harder. How to insulate an attic may be difficult, but it can be easily learned so that your attic can be properly insulated to make the energy in your home efficient.

For insulating your attic, you need to inspect it to see the condition of the insulation. If your attic has insulation, but you find a leak in the attic roof or you still can clearly see the joists, then it means that you need a new insulation. How to insulate an attic can be started by measuring the attic to estimate how much insulation needed. You can purchase batt or fiberglass roll insulation from your local hardware store. You can also purchase blown installation, but then you also need an insulation blower. However, this method needs to be done by a professional for the sake of safety. If you want to do it yourself, you can install the insulation between the joists following the manufacturer’s instructions.
